Having cost $200 million to make, not counting marketing costs, Green Lantern was seen as a disappointment at the worldwide box office, earning $117 million domestically and $103.3 million overseas for a worldwide total of $219.9 million. The Blu-ray and DVD hit stores on Friday, so we'll have to see how those perform, but DC's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns is still hopeful for a sequel.
"There is the hope that we will eventually see one," he said at the New York Comic Con according to Heat Vision. "Obviously, you want it to be as big as Titanic. I hope that the character gets another film, and it will be live-action again – I guarantee."
He added that "there was a lot of really good stuff in the movie" and said that "with the new animated series, Green Lantern is only going to get bigger."
What do you think? Should there be a sequel?
