It probably surprises no one that Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder have been keeping rather hush-hush about what’s going to happen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, since it isn’t scheduled for release until March 25, 2016.
We know that Amy Adams is returning as Lois Lane after playing her in last year’s Man of Steel, but other than a few set photos, it’s not entirely clear what part she’ll play in the movie with so many new superheroes being introduced leading up to Justice League.
At the junket for Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, we asked Adams about all the new additions and where Lois Lane falls in with them.
“It’s exciting to get to bring in all these other characters and I was really excited that Gal (Gadot) was involved, because it was a nice to have another girl on set, even if we don’t work together a lot, it was nice to have her there,” she told us.
When we suggested that Wonder Woman may offer some competition for Superman’s affections (as she has recently in the comics), Adams dismissed that notion: “They always think that if you put in another woman and automatically… ‘Catfight!’ No, I think that’s a male fantasy thing. I don’t think that’s reality.”
Then she added, “I don’t know how it will turn out, if we’re going to be competition, but we are not in this, I can safely say, and we’re not in real life. She’s just the coolest girl ever.”
So there you have it, straight from “Lois Lane,” if there’s any semblance of a Superman love triangle brewing, you’re not going to see it in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. (Or maybe Superman is just really good at keeping secrets from Lois, hmm?)
