Toy Fair: LEGO’s Tie-in Sets for Avengers: Age of Ultron

What may be the most interesting aspect of LEGO’s sets are all the different incarnations of Ultron present, which might give some idea of their chronological order in the movie.

For instance, the “Attack on Avengers Tower” set features “Ultron Mk 1” (as a “Super Jumper,” LEGO’s new initiative), while the “Hulkbuster Smash” set includes a mini-fig of “Ultron Prime,” which is clearly more advanced. (It also hints that maybe Ultron takes part in that battle between Iron Man and Hulk.) That set also includes a separate Iron Man Mk 43 mini-fig (a “Super Jumper”!), which may also offer some clues to what should be a pivotal action sequence.

There’s also the “Avengers Quinjet City Chase” set which could be towards the end of the movie since that includes “Ultimate Ultron” as well as mini-figs of The Vision, Captain America, Black Widow and another “Super Jumper” Iron Man.  (The Vision is even riding in a cool little sidecar.)

The last piece of the puzzle is also probably the first set chronologically, which is “Avengers Hydra Showdown” including Hawkeye in his new costume, Thor and a Hydra Henchman in an appropriate white outfit (since there’s snow on the ground and wearing white will help in his escape, whereas the typical green Hydra uniform would make him stick out like a sore thumb).

LEGO also showed off the 3,000 piece SHIELD Helicarrier set which features five mini-figs of Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury and Maria Hill. That will be available in March along with the other playlets that you can check out in the gallery below.
