Star Wars: The Force Awakens Added $70.8 Million Globally on Monday

In case you thought Star Wars: The Force Awakens was going to slow down at the worldwide box office, the Lucasfilm release surprised again on Monday with another $31.4 million domestically and $39.4 million internationally for a global total of $70.8 million for the day. That means the film has already brought in $571.4 million domestically and $589.7 million overseas for a worldwide total of $1.161 billion.

Domestically, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is already the #2 movie of 2015 to date and the #5 movie of all-time. Internationally, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is already the #6 movie of 2015 to date. Globally, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now the #4 movie of 2015 to date (passing Minions $1,157 million) and the #10 movie of all-time (passing Transformers: Age of Extinction ($1,104 million), Skyfall ($1,109 million), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($1,120 million), Transformers: Dark of the Moon ($1,124 million) and Minions ($1,157 million).
