According to Entertainment Weekly, actor Kyle Secor (The Purge: Election Year) has signed on to join in the fifth season of The CW‘s The Flash for a recurring role. Secor is set to play the role of Caitlin Snow’s father Dr. Thomas Snow, who was previously believed to be dead.
Dr. Snow is described as an extremely intelligent genetic scientist who has been absent for decades. When he returns to Central City, he will try his best to make up for lost time with Caitlin. However, he also has a big secret that he will keep from his daughter.
In the last season, Caitlin has lost her Killer Frost powers after battling with the Thinker. In season 5, her mother Dr. Carla Tannhauser played by Susan Walters will give her answers about her difficult situation.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramo, Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora West-Allen aka the speedster hero XS, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton with Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells, and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West. In addition to Secor, Chris Klein and Kiana Madeira will also be joining season 5 as Cicada and Spin respectively.
Based on the characters from DC Comics, The Flash is from by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Todd Helbing.
The Flash Season 5 will return to The CW on October 9.
