DC Universe and The CW Set Premiere Dates For Stargirl

There’s a new heroine coming to The CW, but she’ll be appearing on DC Universe first! Via Variety, the premiere dates for at Stargirl takes place have been revealed. On Monday, May 11, DC Universe will debut the first episode of Stargirl. The CW will follow with its Stargirl premiere on Tuesday, May 12. Originally, Stargirl was a DC Universe exclusive series. However, DC Universe struck a deal to essentially share custody of the show.

Brec Bassinger headlines the series as Courtney Whitmore, a teenage girl who discovers that her stepfather, Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson), has links to the late hero, Starman (Joel McHale). When Starman’s Cosmic Rod chooses Courtney, she embraces her destiny to become a superheroine. Pat also rejoins the superhero ranks with his S.T.R.I.P.E. armor, so he can help keep his stepdaughter safe.

Lou Ferrigno, Jr., Brian Stapf, and Henry Thomas are also recurring on the series as members of the Justice Society. A few Justice Society villains, including Solomon Grundy, are also slated to appear.

Geoff Johns created Stargirl for DC Universe, and he’s co-showrunning the series alongside Melissa Carter. Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are also executive producing the series.
