The first live-action adaptation of Warrior Nun Areala will hit Netflix in just a few days. Loosely based on the comic by Ben Dunn, the upcoming Warrior Nun series will follow the (mis)adventures of Alba Baptista’s Ava, a 19-year old girl who comes back from the dead thanks to a mystical artifact and wakes up with new super powers. She then joins forces with an ancient order of warrior nuns to fight against demons freshly released from Hell. The original comic centered on a character named Sister Shannon Masters. However, the “Areala” mantle is one adopted by a new character every generation.
Now the streaming service has released the official Warrior Nun trailer, featuring a closer look at the cast. Yes, both the ninja-nun and the armed-to-the-teeth nun look pretty cool. You can watch the trailer in the player below. Be warned that some of the language is NSFW.

While juggling her responsibilities as the chosen one with the normal obstacles of a teenage girl, this mysterious fantasy drama is full of mystery, action, adventure, and teenage romance, proving our main character might fight in the name of good, but she’s no angel.”
