Until recently, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet was supposed to kickoff the post-cornoavirus box office on July 31. But because the pandemic is ongoing, and growing, Tenet was rescheduled for August 12. Subsequently, Bill & Ted Face the Music is vacating its August 14 release date just over two weeks after claiming it. The third Bill & Ted movie will now hit theaters on August 28.
Additionally, Disney has pushed back its live-action Mulan remake from July 24 to August 21. That leaves July without a major studio release. It also places Tenent, Mulan, and Bill and Ted Face the Music within a period of two-and-a-half weeks.

Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves will reprise their respective roles as William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. and Ted “Theodore” Logan. In Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, the Wyld Stallyns were told that their music was destined to change the world. However, their destiny was nearly derailed in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey. In Face the Music, Bill and Ted are middle age musicians with daughters of their own. But they will be forced to come up with a song to preserve the timeline in under 80 minutes or else the future that was promised may be lost forever.
