WandaVision Episode 9 – What Did You Think?!

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for WandaVision episode 9!

It’s time for WandaVision‘s series finale. Presumably. This is the end for Westview as we’ve known it, but the Scarlet Witch’s journey is just beginning. Disney+ has premiered the ninth episode of WandaVision, and we want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it!

As Agatha Harkness threatens Wanda’s sons, Billy and Tommy, Wanda reminds her new rival that her powers work again now that she’s out of the basement. However, Wanda soon learns that any magic that she directly uses on Agatha drains her own life force into the older witch. Additionally, Wanda is blindsided by the arrival of White Vision. He is actually what remains of the real Vision’s body, and he nearly crushes Wanda’s head with his hands. Wanda’s duplicate Vision arrives to save her, and they resolve to fight for their home together.

Meanwhile, Monica Rambeau is a prisoner of the fake Pietro. But she quickly works out how “Pietro” is being controlled, and restores his identity as “Ralph Bohner.” As the two Visions face off, Agatha releases the residents of Westview from Wanda’s control. The ordinary people of Westview angrily confront Wanda, and she loses control of the hex barrier. Director Hayword and his S.W.O.R.D. agents enter Westview during the confusion. However, Jimmy Woo manages to alert the FBI.

Monica prevents Hayward from gunning down Billy and Tommy, revealing her body’s new energy form. As Hayward tries to flee, Darcy Lewis rams a truck into his vehicle and prevents his escape. Elsewhere, the two Visions have a meeting of the minds. White Vision asks for clarification from his counterpart, and his memories are restored. Regardless, White Vision leaves Westview while Wanda’s Vision remains.

Over the skies of Westview, Agatha drains the last of Wanda’s magic…or so she thought. In reality, Wanda cast ruins in the hex barrier that rendered Agatha powerless. Wanda also transforms into the Scarlet Witch, complete with a new costume. As punishment for her actions, Wanda turns Agatha back into Agnes, and leaves her to live out her life in Westview. In the aftermath, Wanda, Vision, and their kids return home as the hex begins to collapse. The couple says goodnight to their twins before saying farewell to each other. Without the hex, Vision, the house, and the twins all fade away into oblivion.

Wanda leaves her home one last time as the Westview residents glare at her with fear and anger. Wanda also apologizes to Monica, before promising to understand how her powers work. Shortly thereafter, in the mid-credits scene, Hayward is arrested. A Skrull disguised as an agent also passes along a message for Monica. An “old friend of her mother’s” wants a meeting. Presumably the “friend” is Nick Fury.

In the post-credits scene, Wanda lives in a secluding cabin. Additionally, Wanda’s astral form is studying the Darkhold just as she hears her sons cry out for help.

WandaVision‘s complete season is on Disney+. Assembled: The Making of WandaVision will debut on Friday, March 12.
