The infiltration of the MCU has already begun. Now, Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion adaptation has its first cast member. Deadline is reporting that Kingsley Ben-Adir has signed on to play a leading role.
According to Deadline, Ben-Adir will play “a lead villain on the show.” However, further details about his character are currently unknown. Ben-Adir recently starred as Malcolm X in Amazon Prime’s One Night In Miami. His previous credits include High Fidelity, Peaky Blinders, The OA, and The Comey Rule.
Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will headline Secret Invasion as Nick Fury and Talos, respectively. During Disney’s Investor Day presentation last year, Marvel’s Kevin Feige indicated that the alien Skrulls have infiltrated all walks of life on Earth.

While Captain Marvel introduced the Skrulls and the friendship between Fury and Talos, Spider-Man: Far From Home was the unexpected continuation of this storyline. While Talos impersonated Fury on Earth, the real Nick Fury was somewhere out in space. He was also in a position of authority on a Skrull ship. More recently, the mid-credits scene of WandaVision also appeared to set the stage for Captain Marvel 2 and Secret Invasion.
Marvel hasn’t revealed a director or screenwriter for Secret Invasion yet. Regardless, the beginning of the casting process suggests that it may film as soon as this year.
