Ron Moore is Adapting A Court of Thorns and Roses For Hulu

After lending his storytelling know-how to Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, Ron Moore is about to tackle a lesser-known fantasy property. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Moore has inked a deal with Hulu to develop an adaptation of author Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses.

Maas launched A Court of Thorns and Roses with the series’ eponymous first novel in 2015. The books follow Feyre Archeron, a 19-year-old hunter who is eventually whisked away to a land inhabited by faeries after she kills one of their own. During her stay, she discovers that everything she’s heard about their kind is a lie. Maas has written four sequels to the book. The most recent installment, A Court of Silver Flames, hit bookstores last month.

Moore’s latest TV series, Apple TV+’s For All Mankind, was recently renewed for a third season. He also developed Outlander for Starz in 2014. Moore’s Star Trek work includes several episodes of The Next Generation, Voyager, and Deep Space Nine. Additionally, he co-wrote the scripts for Star Trek: Generations and Star Trek: First Contact.

This isn’t the first time that Hollywood has set its sights on Maas’ books. Shortly after the first novel’s publication, Tempo Productions acquired the rights to make a film adaptation. Constantin Film joined the movie as producers in 2018, and Rachel Hirons was hired to write the screenplay. But obviously, this didn’t work out.

Maas shared her excitement for Hulu’s adaptation in a post on her official Instagram page. She also confirmed that she’s writing the series’ pilot with Moore. You can read what she had to say below.
