Naomi McDuffie is officially one step closer to joining the ranks of The CW’s Arrowverse. Via Deadline, the CW has premiered the first look at Kaci Walfall as the titular DC Comics character in the network’s potential Naomi TV show. The photo pays homage to artist Jamal Campbell’s cover for the first issue of her namesake comic book series. Check out the full image below.
Brian Michael Bendis introduced Naomi with co-writer David F. Walker and Campbell in 2019. She was born in an alternate universe to parents gifted with extraordinary abilities. But when her world was attacked, Naomi was sent to Prime Earth and raised by a kindly couple in a small northwestern town. As Naomi grew older, she discovered that she had superpowers of her own. Over the last two years, Naomi has fought alongside several big-name DC heroes, and has even served as a member of Young Justice and the Justice League.

Walfall leads a cast that also includes Barry Watson and Mouzam Makkar as Naomi’s adoptive parents. The series will also feature Mary-Charles Jones, Aidan Gemme, and Daniel Puig as some of Naomi’s friends and classmates. Other cast members include Alexander Wraith, Cranston Johnson, and Camila Moreno.
As of now, The CW hasn’t officially ordered Naomi to series. Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship wrote the pilot and are executive producers as well. Sarah Bremner and Paul Garnes are onboard as executive producers.
