It’s been just over a year since Rick and Morty season 4 came to an end, but the wait is almost over. The fifth season premiere, “Mort Dinner Rick Andre,” will premiere this Sunday on Adult Swim. Now, Adult Swim has released the cold open for the fifth season premiere. Naturally, Rick and Morty are also in big trouble.
Within the clip, Rick is seemingly mortally wounded. And it’s up to Morty to get them home alive. However, Morty needs a reason to live to escape this situation…. and he gets one.

Unfortunately for Rick, Morty crashed their ship into the ocean. That act saved their lives, but it also summoned Rick’s previously unseen nemesis, Mr. Nimbus. He looks a lot like Marvel’s Namor, the Sub-Mariner. Somehow, Rick has avoided confronting Mr. Nimbus during the show’s first four seasons. However, his respite is up and Rick will once again face the king of the seas. But at least Morty has a shot at living out his dream.
Rick and Morty season 5 will premiere Sunday, June 20 on Adult Swim.
