Ghostbusters: Afterlife International Trailer Reveals New and Old Threats

With exactly one month to go until Ghostbusters: Afterlife opens in wide release, Sony is hoping to build more hype for the movie with a brand new international trailer. Up to this point, most of the previews for the film have kept any glimpses at its cast of new supernatural creatures to a minimum. However, this clip gives us our most effects-heavy look at the sequel yet. Check it out for yourself below.

The trailer once again showcases Mckenna Grace’s Phoebe as the heart of the film as she and her brother, Trevor (Finn Wolfhard), follow in their grandfather’s ghost-hunting footsteps. This time, we actually get to see the siblings bust a few ghosts, with Trevor behind the wheel of the Ecto-1 as they chase down Muncher, a blue Slimer lookalike. But this is just small potatoes compared to what’s really threatening their small Oklahoma town: a glowing gateway at the bottom of an abandoned mineshaft. And whatever’s on the other side doesn’t sound very friendly at all.

Unsurprisingly, fans will have to wait before they see classic Ghostbusters stars back in action. Regardless, the trailer has several new shots of some of the other new characters, including Phoebe and Trevor’s mom, Callie (Carrie Coon) and Phoebe’s classmate, Podcast (Logan Kim). And of course, there’s Phoebe’s teacher, Mr. Grooberson (Paul Rudd), who seems to have a lot of the answers to Phoebe’s questions about her family’s history. He even gets to share the screen with one of the demon dogs from the original 1984 film.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits theaters on November 19.
