In just a few weeks, Boba Fett will finally get the spinoff he deserves. But while his upcoming Disney+ series finds him assuming a new role as Tatooine’s top crime lord, many fans are primarily curious to learn how he managed to escape from the Sarlacc Pit in Return of the Jedi. Now, a new promo for The Book of Boba Fett is giving us more hints about how he pulled this off.
Appropriately dubbed “The Return,” the preview isn’t lacking in new footage. However, some of the more exciting shots appear to take place before the bounty hunter’s comeback on The Mandalorian last year. In one scene, a robed Boba scans Jabba the Hutt’s palace from a distance, indicating that he’s been planning a takeover for some time. We also see another shot of him recovering inside a bacta tank, presumably after he was pulled from the Sarlacc’s clutches. Unfortunately, it looks like we still need to wait until the series debuts to find out who rescued him.

Series star Temuera Morrison previously teased that The Book of Boba Fett will give fans the answers they have been waiting for. Regardless, he won’t be alone on his latest crusade. The show will also feature the return of Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, who now serves as Boba’s lieutenant. And of course, we can also expect to meet several new characters along the way as well.
The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Disney+ on December 29.
