Mondo Brings Michael Giacchino’s The Batman Score To Vinyl

Michael Giacchino’s epic score for The Batman deserves a colorful vinyl release to match. And who else but Mondo could make that happen? A few weeks after releasing a new pressing of Giacchino’s Rogue One score, Mondo is teaming up with WaterTower Music to press its own version of the themes from Matt Reeves’ critically-acclaimed reboot.

Critics and fans alike have been gushing over Giacchino’s score ever since the film hit theaters last week. Although a litany of A-list composers have tackled the Dark Knight over the years, Giacchino’s work already rivals that of Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer before him. That’s not surprising, given the Oscar-winner’s resume, which also includes Star Trek and several MCU entries. His score for The Batman totals nearly two hours, featuring sweeping orchestrations for the film’s many action scenes as well as reserved cues for more tender moments.

Henry Abrams handled the artwork for the soundtrack’s tri-fold sleeve. The cover proudly displays Robert Pattinson’s Batman bathed in a crimson light just like on many of the film’s posters. Behind him is the cipher left by Paul Dano’s Riddler at his very first crime scene. Meanwhile, each of the soundtrack’s three 180-gram LPs features a different color.

Mondo’s The Batman soundtrack retails for $50. Pre-orders go live this Wednesday, March 9 at 12pm CT at MondoShop.com. You can view Abrams’ artwork for the release in the gallery below.
