Netflix is adding a few more big names to star opposite Charlize Theron in the upcoming sequel to The Old Guard. According to Deadline, Uma Thurman and Henry Golding have both joined the cast of The Old Guard 2. Unfortunately, the streaming service hasn’t disclosed the nature of their characters.
Luckily, both Thurman and Golding already have some action experience under their belts. Thurman is still widely known for her role as The Bride in Kill Bill. Volume 1 and 2. She most recently appeared in Hollywood Stargirl, which premiered on Disney+ earlier this month. Meanwhile, Golding toplined last year’s Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins and also had a role in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen in 2019.
The original Old Guard was based on Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández’s Image comic book series of the same name and debuted on Netflix in 2020. Theron headlined the movie as Andromache, an immortal warrior who leads her own team of mercenaries. The film received largely positive reviews and eventually became one of Netflix’s most-watched originals.
