Marvel has announced that it will be collaborating with Hasbro to release new reprints and collections of comics featuring the toy-turned-comic-character Rom.
Rom’s original solo series by Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema, as well as a number of the character’s guest appearances, will be reprinted in January 2024 as ROM: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Volume 1. This collection includes ROM (1979) #1-29 and Power Man and Iron Fist (1978) #73. Marvel’s website states that Rom: The Original Marvel Years omnibus collections are being released starting next year, suggesting more may be on the horizon.
Marvel will also release ROM #1 Facsimile Edition, which is a reprint of ROM (1979) #1 in its original form, even featuring the same advertisements within the book that the original release had. This reprint will become available for purchase this September.

Who is Rom the Spaceknight?
Rom the Spaceknight first appeared in ROM (1979) #1. Rom is a Spaceknight from the planet Galador who has sworn to protect his world and people from the evil Dire Wraiths. Rom would go on to cross over with many other major Marvel characters, including the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the Avengers. After Marvel lost the licensing rights to the character, reprints of past comics seemed uncertain, making these new releases a welcome surprise.
