Marvel Entertainment has announced Storm: Dawn of a Goddess, a new young-adult novel that offers a fresh take on fan-favorite X-Man Ororo Munroe’s origin story.
Dawn of a Goddess hails from New York Times bestselling author Tiffany D. Jackson (Monday’s Not Coming). The superhero novel releases in bookstores next June from Random House Books for Young Readers — an imprint of Random House Children’s Books. Marvel promises a “vivid imagining of Storm‘s life as Ororo Munroe before she grew into the fierce super hero revered by millions across the globe.”

Tiffany D. Jackson talks Storm: Dawn of a Goddess
“It’s no secret that I grew up loving X-Men, specifically Storm, a Black woman Super Hero!” Jackson said. “So when this opportunity came about, I jumped, cried, and begged. Research for this book took me into the depths of the Marvel archives to the streets of Cairo, Egypt. Tackling Ororo’s journey, especially for my first fantasy novel, wasn’t easy but was so very worth it.”
Jackson will appear on the next episode of the Women of Marvel podcast — which drops tomorrow, October 18. The author joins hosts Ellie Pyle and Preeti Chhibber for an episode dedicated to Storm.
Storm: Dawn of a Goddess goes on sale June 4, 2024 from Random House Children’s Books.
