Ghostbusters Second HasLab Crowdfund: PKE Meter and Trap

Hasbro‘s Ghostbusters action figure line may have become extremely dormant, but they’re all-in on prop replicas. Having successfully funded a proton pack the first time, their latest HasLab crowdfund project should help complete the full cosplay ensemble, with a set containing the official ghost trap and PKE meter. Both items derive from scans of the actual movie props and feature appropriate lights and sound effects. They also include modification pieces to make the trap in the style of either Ghostbusters or Ghostbusters II, and the PKE meter to upgrade to the Afterlife style.

Nothing Strange in This Neighborhood

As you’d hope, the trap features pedal activation and a slide-out cartridge. Wheels allow for remote deployment. The PKE meter includes multiple ghost detection modes and articulated scanners.

But wait! There’s more. If 12,000 fans back the project, it’ll come with a starter pack that includes Venkman’s psychic test cards, stickers, blueprint, and a classic Ghostbusters patch. 15,000 backers will unlock a belt holster for the trap and a HasLab Ghostbusters patch. Finally, at the 18,000 backer mark, a PKE meter holster gets thrown in, along with a Mini-Puft Ghostbusters patch.

As of this writing, the project already has close to 10,000 backers. It has until Dec. 11 to get the rest. Expect delivery in Fall 2024, but don’t necessarily expect it guaranteed in time for costume season. Next year marks the 40th anniversary of Ghostbusters, and while acting strikes will probably delay the next live-action movie, Hasbro’s likely to have more in store to celebrate. For some fans, the movie represents childhood fantasy; for others, it was a chance to see favorite SNL stars on the big screen. More recently, libertarians have embraced the film’s anti-regulation stances. Who you gonna call and party with?
