Spider-Punk: Arms Race Trailer Gets Hobie Brown’s Band Back Together

Marvel Comics has released an official trailer for Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason’s new Spider-Punk series — now titled Spider-Punk: Arms Race.

Spider-Punk: Arms Race launches late this coming February. The comic’s official trailer reunites Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk with bandmates Karl Morningdew/Captain Anarchy, Riri Williams/RiotHeart, Kamala Khan, and Mattea Murdock/the Daredevil Drummer of Philly. This time around, the Spider-Band will have to take on such adversaries as Doctor Octopus, the Lizard, Bullseye, and more.

Spider-Punk is back for an encore

Created by Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel, Spider-Punk first appeared in 2014’s Amazing Spider-Man #10. The Spider-Man of Earth-138 got his first solo series in April 2022, with Ziglar and Mason at the helm. That initial Spider-Punk limited series ran for five issues through November 2022. In November 2023, Marvel announced a four-issue follow-up series, with Ziglar and Mason returning.

Per Marvel, an official synopsis for Spider-Punk: Arms Race reads as follows: “ENCORE! YOU WANTED MORE! In a world without Norman Osborn, Spider-Punk reigns! This ain’t no victory lap though — as Hobie Brown and team try to rebuild society, Justin Hammer & Doctor Otto Octavius have other plans … like introducing the world to the Spider-Slaying Sentinels!”

“It feels so friggin’ cool to dive back into Earth-138 with Justin and explore the world of Hobie and the Spider-band even more!” series writer Ziglar previously told IGN. “There’s some new additions to the Spider-Punk roster, some real dope villains, and some other cool stuff I don’t wanna spoil … but absolutely cannot wait for folks! And yes, there’ll 100% be a Spider-Punk Playlist Vol 2!”

Spider-Punk: Arms Race #1 goes on sale Wednesday, February 28 from Marvel Comics.
