BOOM! Studios has shared a first look inside Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #118 — the next chapter in the 12-part “Darkest Hour” story arc.
MMPR #118 arrives later this month from writer Melissa Flores, artists Simona Di Gianfelice and Marco Renna, colorist Raúl Angulo, and letterer Ed Dukeshire. The issue features a main cover by Taurin Clarke, as well as variant covers by Björn Barends, Goñi Montes, Clarke, and Michael Walsh.
At this time, BOOM! has shared four fully-lettered preview pages, in which the villainous Lord Zedd — who is currently a Power Ranger — verbalizes his apparent lack of faith in his unlikely allies. Elsewhere, the Phantom Ranger and the Ranger Slayer nearly come to blows before Zordon attempts to restore order.

An official synopsis for MMPR #118 reads as follows: “Reality hits Mistress Vile hard and she does the unthinkable, which puts her in dire straits, to the point where her survival is on the line! As Dark Specter’s relentless assault continues, Mistress Vile finds refuge in a familiar place, but finds unexpected company. But most importantly, where will fate lead a trapped Tommy, desperate to reunite with the other Rangers?”
What is MMPR’s ‘Darkest Hour’ arc about?
The “Darkest Hour” event officially kicked off in August 2023’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111. The yearlong story promises to “forever change the Power Rangers universe.” In it, the villainous Mistress Vile has gained control of the Morphin Grid while Dark Specter’s infection spreads throughout the universe. The Rangers, meanwhile, have been stranded and separated from one another. The Drakkon Rangers show up to lend them a hand. However, they “may not be the help [our heroes] were hoping for.”
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #118 goes on sale Wednesday, March 27 from BOOM! Studios.
