Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that more Marvel Studios Special Presentations are on the way.
What is a Marvel Studios Special Presentation?
Similar to Marvel Studios’ theatrical movies and Disney+ series, the Special Presentation banner was created to tell contained stories that experiment with genre and style and could introduce more obscure characters, like Jack Russell/Werewolf by Night. The first two hour-long specials — Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (both 2022) — were both released on Disney+ and are part of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With no Special Presentation release in 2023, and none for 2024 either, some MCU fans wondered if the banner would be shortlived. However, while speaking with Collider, Feige confirmed that more specials are in the works.

“There will be more. You just have to wait,” he said before confirming that Marvel is actively developing a new Special Presentation. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until at least 2026 to see the new special. When asked if the special would be released next year, Feige responded with a simple “No.”
The Special Presentations banner has so far been a resounding success for Marvel Studios, with both Werewolf by Night and The GOTG Holiday Special well-received by critics and fans. The former, released in October 2022, follows a secret cabal of monster hunters who are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic. The special was praised for its use of practical effects and the black-and-white cinematography, which was favorably compared to Universal’s classic monster movies.
The GOTG Holiday Special was released a month later and follows the titular cosmic team as they search for a present for Peter Quill, who is still grieving the loss of Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War. The special was praised for being the first true Christmas-themed project in the MCU and for how it utilized Kevin Bacon, who played a fictionalized version of himself.
Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special are available to stream on Disney+.
