September is shaping up to be a big month for DC Comics. The publisher has already revealed plans to reintroduce both the Justice Society of America and the Legion of Super-Heroes. However, DC has another ace up their sleeve. Jody Houser took to Twitter this morning to reveal she’s writing a Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy miniseries. You can check out her announcement below.
I SAID I HAD MORE COOL NEWS THIS WEEK! I’m writing a Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy limited series, spinning out of Heroes in Crisis! Drawn by @Adriana_Melo, with covers by @LaraWest and variants by @Artgerm! https://t.co/RlVh2xduH7

Houser is pulling double duty at Marvel later this year with her new Web of Black Widow miniseries. She’ll be collaborating on the Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy story with artist Adriana Melo. In addition to her work on Ms. Marvel, Melo has also worked for DC on several issues of Birds of Prey and Catwoman. This new title picks up after their time at Sanctuary as depicted in the pages of Heroes in Crisis. That event also notably reinvented Poison Ivy as a new agent of the Green.
Of course, this won’t be the only place comics fans will see Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy together. The villainous duo will co-star in the DC Universe’s upcoming Harley Quinn animated series, with Kaley Cuoco voicing Harley and Lake Bell as Ivy. That show is also expected to premiere sometime in the fall.
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy #1 goes on sale on September 4. You can view the first issue’s cover below, then let us know what you think in the comment section!
