Michael B. Jordan’s Netflix Superhero Series Raising Dion Gets a Trailer

It seems that kids are playing a pivotal role in the superhero culture this year. After David Yarovesky’s Brightburn, a new kid is going to test himself with his superpowers. Netflix has revealed the first trailer for its upcoming 9-episode superhero series based on the comic book of the same name by Dennis Liu, Raising Dion. In the trailer, we get to know 8 year-old Dion and his widowed mother Nicole. Soon, Dion will develop super powers, while dealing with the trauma of losing his father. Meanwhile, Nicole is struggling to protect his childhood and his safety.

The official synopsis reads as follows:

Raising Dion follows the story of a woman named Nicole (Alisha Wainwright), who raises her son Dion (newcomer Ja’Siah Young) after the death of her husband, Mark (Michael B. Jordan). The normal dramas of raising a son as a single mom are amplified when Dion starts to manifest several mysterious, superhero-like abilities. Nicole must now keep her son’s gifts secret with the help of Mark’s best friend Pat (Jason Ritter), and protect Dion from antagonists out to exploit him while figuring out the origin of his abilities.

Raising Dion sees Carol Barbee as showrunner. Michael B. Jordan, Kenny Goodman, Kim Roth, Dennis Liu, Michael Green, Seith Mann and Charles D. King’s MACRO serve as executive producers.
