There’s always a story to tell with Marvel Entertainment. Now, Marvel has made a new partnership that will allow them to spin even more tales in 2020. Via The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel has announced that it will team up with tabletop game publisher, Asmodee, in a new multi-year agreement. Several books based on their characters will also hit stories in 2020.
Asmodee will release the books through its publishing arm, Aconyte, with distribution courtesy of Simon & Schuster. They will also be available in a number of formats, including traditional trade paperback, digital e-book, and audio editions.
“The Marvel comic book universe has featured a host of great characters and storylines crying out to be told over the years, and now is their time to step into the spotlight,” said Aconyte publisher Marc Gasgoine. “You can look out for legends from Asgard, several volumes focusing on some of Marvel’s heroines, and stories of some of Professor Xavier’s lesser-known students, and that’s just to get us started.”

Marvel and Asmodee have also worked together in the past. Earlier this year, the companies launched Marvel Champions: The Card Game. It gave players the opportunity to battle classic Marvel villains with a number of superheroes. The game can still be ordered here.
Unfortunately, the announcement didn’t mention which specific characters they plan to use. But it sounds like the books will explore new areas of the Marvel Universe. Aconyte should have more information on writers and stories as we get closer to next tear.
