After saving the day on several occasions, Steve Rogers finally retired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Even though Rogers’ retired, though, someone else is already ready to pick up his legacy as Captain America. In the last clips of 2019’s blockbuster, an old Rogers passes Cap’s notorious shield to Sam Wilson. Thanks to Disney recently releasing the Endgame screenplay online, we now know that Rogers was 112 years old when they met, as noticed by ComicBookMovie.com.
“Steve looks at the river, 112 years of emotion in his face,” reads the script.

Shortly thereafter, the same screenplay reveals the year Rogers reunited with his long-lost love, Peggy Carter. A title card confirmed that the sequence when the two met again was actually taking place in Washington D.C., 1949.

Thanks to the tie-in comic Captain America: First Vengeance, we know that Rogers was born on July 4, 1918. He was 27 when he went down in Red Skull’s plane, and he stayed frozen until the events of the first installment in the Avengers franchise, which is set in 2012. He then returns the Infinity Stones at the end of Endgame, which takes place in 2023. When he came back to 1949, he was 38 years old. He then lived another 74 years till he met Wilson once again in 2023. The numbers check out.
