Exclusive: First Look At X-Men #11 Cover & Solicit Text

The Dawn of X continues this May for Marvel’s mutant heroes. Jonathan Hickman and artist Leinil Francis Yu will still be working together when X-Men #11 arrives in three months. Now, Superhero Hype is proud to present the first look at Yu’s cover for the issue. It features Magneto standing alone against deadly trees while surrounded by bodies.

Here’s the very brief description from Marvel:

“THE TREES ARE KILLING THE CHILDREN!”

That solicitation text really doesn’t give us a lot to go on. However, we can make a few educated guesses about what’s going to happen. Back in X-Men #3, Hickman and Yu introduced Hordeculture, a collective of scientists who have unmatched mastery over plant life. These elderly women easily took down Cyclops, White Queen, and Sebastian Shaw because that trio badly underestimated them. Unlike the X-Men’s other enemies, Hordeculture wants to make the world more fit for plantlife at the expensive of everyone else. And they boasted about their ability to hack Krakoa and their eventual goal to turn the island against the mutants. Perhaps Hordeculture will make good on that threat in this issue.

Alternatively, this may also be a continuation of X-Men #10’s storyline; which ties in with the Empyre crossover. But we’ll have to wait three months before we  know for sure.

X-Men #11 will hit comic stores in May. The full Marvel solicitations from May will be released later this month.
