Today, Disney announced the opening date of the upcoming Marvel-themed land coming to Disney’s California Adventure Park. Starting July 18th, Avengers Campus – where C.A.M.P.U.S. stands for Centralized Assembly Mobilized to Prepare, Unite, and Safeguard – visitors will get the chance to be part of an interconnected story together with their favorite superheroes. Disney executives Bob Iger and Bob Chapek shared the news during the annual investor meeting.
The new land will feature three attractions, one of which is already up and it will see Peter Parker back in action in “WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.” The news doesn’t end here, as the ride will feature actor Tom Holland wearing your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man’s costume once again. The second attraction is under construction and the third one has yet to get a debut date.

The theming is set in the present day and it will feature the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes taking on the Taskmaster. The new land is part of a larger story that extends to Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. Disney World in Florida will have to hold off, however, as Universal still owns east-coast theme park rights to most major Marvel characters.
“Since day one we have been trying to figure out, how do we bring this land to life—and not just bring it to life where you get to see your favorite heroes or you get to meet your favorite heroes, but where you get to become a hero,” the executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering Brent Strong said to Disney’s official publication D23. “And within the story that we’ve created, the idea here is that every time we’ve seen the Avengers go up against bigger and bigger threats—from Loki to Ultron to Thanos—the way that they’ve persevered, the way that they’ve succeeded, is with a bigger and bigger team.”
Further details on the new land will arrive in the days to come.
