Thanks to its ongoing Future State event as well as exciting new titles on the horizon like its upcoming Wonder Girl series, DC looks poised to have a banner year. But earlier today, the company teased even more reasons to get excited about its 2021 slate of comics. During the virtual ComicsPRO event, DC announced a handful of new series that will be hitting the shelves in the coming months.
As of now, we still don’t have dates or complete details for these projects. But the titles alone are reason enough to keep an eye on DC’s release calendar throughout the year. Some of the standouts include Deathstroke Inc., Robin and Batman, Joker: A Puzzle Box, and Crush and Lobo. Also in the works is a new special to celebrate Wonder Woman’s 80th anniversary. And even though HBO Max has already ordered a new season of Harley Quinn, it looks like DC is planning to release some kind of “sequel,” in comic book form. This will presumably fill in the gaps between the second and third seasons.

Other upcoming titles include a new Elseworld comic, The Legend of Batman, Nubia and the Amazons, and DC Middle Ages. Plus, the company is plotting a new event under the working title of DC Vampires. DC will also release a batch of new stories in honor of Free Comic Book Day on May 1.
Normally, ComicsPRO happens over the course of a full weekend sometime during the first quarter of every year. The annual tradeshow allows publishers to engage directly with retailers in order to hype future releases. Unfortunately, the coronavirus kept the event from happening in person this year, hence the need for a virtual substitute.
Which of these new series are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comment section below!
