Beast Boy in Titans Beast World

Titans: Beast World Reveals Beast Boy’s Ultimate Form

Dawn of DC‘s Titans series has seen Beast Boy refine his powers. Garfield Logan has become a Hulk-like monster, a kaiju, and split himself into animal swarms. However, all of this pales in comparison to what he does to save the Earth in the first issue of Titans: Beast World.

Written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Ivan Reis, Titans: Beast World #1 pits Earth against the monstrous Necrostar. A being of legend, the Necrostar was sealed inside a planet by a group of Tamaranean warriors. However, according to Starfire, they managed this only after the Necrostar was first weakened by Starro the Conqueror.

With the Necrostar only an hour away, the heroes of Earth have no time to seek out Starro. Even if they did, they would be trading one interstellar menace for another. Thankfully, Beast Boy had an unlikely and unorthodox solution.

Beast Boy becomes Starro

Most of Earth’s heroes focused on distracting the Necrostar, as Cyborg and Raven helped Beast Boy. Cyborg handled the transportation, as Raven used her empathy to take away Garfield Logan’s pain while he pushed his powers to the limit. Ultimately, he was able to become a giant starfish like Starro, complete with starfish drones of his own.

This continent-size form proved the perfect counter to the Necrostar. Beast Boy’s starfish swarms neutralized the Necro-drones that threatened to take over Earth’s heroes. With Cyborg’s timely creation of a Boom Tube gate, Beast Boy was able to send the Necrostar 5000 light-years away.

Unfortunately, the Titans’ triumph was short-lived. At Amanda Waller’s direction, the wizard Doctor Hate attacked Beast Boy psychically. This left an unrestrained Starro to attack Earth in earnest, with his starfish drones transforming people into savage beastfolk. It is unclear just what Waller’s larger plan is, but it cannot bode well for Earth’s heroes.
