Marvel Comics has announced a collection of “Vampire Variant Covers” to celebrate the impending launch of its vampire-centric event series Blood Hunt.
No fewer than 21 Vampire Variant Covers will adorn Marvel‘s various titles throughout the month of April — leading up to Blood Hunt’s debut in early May. Each of these variants pays homage to a classic, vampire-themed cover from the publisher’s past. At this time, Marvel has revealed the first 18 vampiric variants — which imagine beloved characters like Spider-Man, Daredevil, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Wolverine as blood-sucking creatures of the night. These covers come from such acclaimed artists as Annie Wu, Stephen Segovia, Luciano Vecchio, Betsy Cola, Lee Garbett, Jonas Scharf, and many more.

Vampires invade the Marvel Universe in Blood Hunt
Blood Hunt hails from writer Jed MacKay and artist Pepe Larraz. The five-issue limited series pits Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against a vampire scourge that seeks to lay waste to the Marvel Universe. In addition to the main series, Blood Hunt’s story will be told across a number of tie-in issues and spin-off limited series.
An official synopsis for Blood Hunt reads as follows: “The skies have gone dark, and the sun is hiding its face from the carnage to come. The children of the night, the vampires, have risen from the dark and hidden places of the world as one to drown the Marvel Universe in blood. Earth’s final night has fallen — can even the heroes of this doomed world stem the tide of blood that is to come? Join the Avengers, Blade, Bloodline, Spider-Man, Hunter’s Moon, Tigra, Doctor Strange, and Clea as the dance of death begins.”
Blood Hunt #1 goes on sale Wednesday, May 1 from Marvel Comics.
