Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum Preview Bridges Batman Arkham Trilogy and Kill The Justice League

The new game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League continues the story of Rocksteady Studios‘ original Batman: Arkham Trilogy. However, there is some question of how Taskforce X is formed in the game world’s timeline. The answers lie in a prequel comic, Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum,

Written by John Layman, with art by Jesus Hervas, Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum is set three months after Batman: Arkham Knight. Now under the management of ARGUS and Amanda Waller, Arkham Asylum has been rebuilt stronger than ever. However, the new facility is more prison than hospital, and housing several inmates (like King Shark) who are not criminally insane.

This is a cause for concern to both Batman and Mayor Jim Gordon. Their fears prove well-founded, as the woman called “the Wall” is not interested in rehabilitating her charges. Indeed, she intends to put them to work, after arranging a battle royale. Only the strongest, smartest, and most brutal bad guys will survive to join Waller’s Taskforce X, aka the Suicide Squad.

Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum Incentives

Beyond developing the history of the Arkham Trilogy, Kill Arkham Asylum offers an additional reason for collecting the comic. Every issue of the series comes with a redeemable game code for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This code unlocks a digital token related to the comic. The premiere issue prize, for instance, is a digital doll of serial killer Zsasz.

The code will also be awarded to DC Universe Infinite subscribers at the Annual or Ultra subscription levels. All five codes and a bonus token will also be available through the TP collection of the series, which is scheduled for release in October 2024.

Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on February 6, 2024.
