#3 DAVID S. GOYER’S THE FLASH

Eight days after Blade: Trinity opened it was officially announced that David Goyer would write, produce, and direct the big screen adaptation of The Flash. Goyer’s statement upon the announcement of the film was: “’Flash’ is my favorite of the properties. I think the character of the Flash, who moves faster than the speed of light, opens itself up to rich cinematic and story ideas.”

Much like Whedon though, and at around the same time, Goyer and the studio just couldn’t come to terms on it. “The God’s honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn’t agree on what would make for a cool Flash film.” Goyer wrote in a post on his long-deleted MySpace account. “I’m quite proud of the screenplay I turned in. I threw my heart into it and I genuinely think it would’ve been the basis of a ground-breaking film. But as of now, the studio is heading off in a completely different direction. I expect you’ll hear of some new developments on that front shortly.”
