In this edition of Weekend Watch, we’re celebrating the release of Stranger Things 3 with a deep dive into spoilers for the latest season of the hit Netflix series. Kicking things off, we have a video that recaps the first two seasons of the show. After this, we have an excellent video that dissects the ending of Stranger Things 3. Next, we have a trio of videos that break down the many Easter eggs, references, and small details in the new season. Finally, we’ll close things out with a behind-the-scenes look at the series and a scene breakdown with two of the show’s stars.

Official Cast Recap of Stranger Things Seasons 1 & 2

First up, this video from Netflix uses the cast of Stranger Things to recap the first two seasons. Although there’s not much depth to this video, it does provide some context moving forward. Even though it’s geared toward those who may have forgotten, it also gives some insight into the real-life chemistry between the cast members for later on.

Stranger Things 3 Ending Explained

Next, we have a video from Flicks And The City that breaks down the ending of Stranger Things 3. Aside from the quick recap of all three seasons, it essentially theorizes that Hopper is indeed still alive. Using several pieces of evidence from the climax of the current season to back it up, it makes a pretty compelling case that we haven’t seen the last of him. It also uses season 3’s post-credits stinger as well as the events of the previous season to justify this theory. .. and explores some of the possibilities for season 4.

Small Details You Missed in Stranger Things 3

This short video from Looper takes a look at a few of the Easter eggs and references in Stranger Things 3. Some of these details are pretty apparent references, such as Cerebro, Weathertop, and the period-accurate comics. If you’re not familiar, this presents some useful information nevertheless and will catch you up to speed.

All of the 80’s References You Missed in Stranger Things 3

Next, the latest version of INSIDER’s “Pop Culture Decoded” series takes a look into some of the 80’s references that you may have missed in the third season. While the previous seasons were loaded with pop culture references from the decade, this season features more than ever. Including a potential IT Easter egg, the season also makes pretty direct references to films like Back to the Future, The Terminator, Die Hard, The Thing, The Goonies, Alien and many more subtle ones. There are boatloads of details, which this video sums up nicely.

Stranger Things Easter Eggs & Details

This lengthy video from New Rockstars breaks down the new season even further. Although it naturally features some repeat information, it does a great job of highlighting the little details that pay-off earlier setups in the previous seasons. Along with these subtle pay-offs, it also explores some of the visual clues throughout the season that foreshadow what happens.

Stranger Things 3 Behind the Scenes Tour

Shifting gears, we have a behind-the-scenes video of Stranger Things 3. The video, which comes courtesy of Netflix, features an all-access tour hosted by the various cast members on the show’s Atlanta set. Featuring Millie Bobbie Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp and more, this video gives one an appreciation for the level of meticulous detail that goes into the production of the show. Areas like Hopper’s cabin, the basement set, the Byers household, and others get the spotlight. Although there’s not much depth to this video, it’s easy to marvel at the craftsmanship on display here.

Stranger Things 3 Scene Breakdown

Finally, we have a video – also from Netflix – that breaks down a scene from Stranger Things 3. In the video, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton dissect the hospital chase scene from episode 5. The duo guides us shot by shot through the sequence, explaining the intricacies of shooting such a physically demanding scene. As far as scene breakdowns go, there’s some excellent information here. Tons of variables go into shooting a sequence like this one. If you’re unfamiliar with all of the work that goes into something like this, it’s worth your time.
