Starting with the trailer for The Phantom Menace and ending with The Rise of Skywalker, this trailer offers some helpful context on the trailers for the saga as a whole. Right off the bat, it becomes readily apparent how much the marketing for each of these original trilogies has shifted throughout the years. Even though the bulk of the video covers Palpatine’s mysterious presence, it also highlights what the heck is going on with Threepio in this final trailer.

Is Rey Holding The Dagger Of Mortis In The Final Trailer For The Rise of Skywalker?

While we’re on the subject of this mysterious dagger, this video from IGN posits that it’s The Dagger of Mortis. First introduced in the “Mortis Trilogy” during The Clone Wars, this mystical dagger might be the key to defeating Palpatine. The video digs into the lore of the blade, explaining where it came from and where it went. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Final Trailer Easter Eggs

Speaking of the story for The Rise Of Skywalker, this video from Screen Crush tries to make sense of the plot based on the trailers. Although the trailer is jam-packed with some great moments, information about the plot of the film is still relatively sparse. While much of the same information is covered, this breakdown does an excellent job of piecing together a potential plot.

George Lucas Reacts To The Rise Of Skywalker – Salty Celebrity Deepfake

This creepy deepfake video from Collider showcases an impressive George Lucas impersonator reacting to the final Rise of Skywalker trailer. There’s something to be said for how problematic deep fake technology is. With that said, this video is also absolutely hilarious in the context of the new trailer. While the sequel trilogy has famously eschewed any creative input or consolation from Disney, this might be for the best.

Despite this, the video pokes fun at some of the perceived missteps of the brand under Disney’s leadership. Even though some things are not as problematic as the video makes them out to be, there are some fun jabs at the franchise that are somewhat justified. Either way, this is an entertaining video that only proves one thing – there’s never enough room to make all the Star Wars fans happy no matter how hard they try.
