Japanese Star Wars Figure Reveals New Hooded Look for Rey

One of the frustrations of the Triple Force Friday reveals so far is that we haven’t seen a whole lot of Star Wars stuff that looks brand new. Sith troopers were unveiled earlier in the year, and we’ve seen The Mandalorian trailer. Meanwhile, most of the vehicles are versions of classic fighters we know and love. But that’s just domestically. In Japan, Bandai has revealed a first look at Rey with a hood added to her outfit. This gives her a more classic Jedi appearance. Although it could totally work for Assassin’s Creed as well.

Bandai‘s Tamashii Nations line typically releases higher-end collectible figures, but they’re in scale with most six-inch U.S. lines. If you’ve ever seen the Marvel and Star Wars samurai mash-up figures, that’s them. But they also do straight-up Star Wars figures with elaborate articulation and detail-perfect likenesses. It isn’t like them to invent details for the sake of a toy, so this hooded Rey is probably screen-accurate. We have seen Dark Rey in a hood in the last trailer. But now with a light hood as well, it’s anybody’s guess what style and side she ultimately takes. Surely, since she comes packed with the newest cute sidekick robot D-O, she couldn’t go too bad. Right?

We will have to wait and see. But it’s cool that, one way or another, that she finally earned a hood. Next to a lightsaber, it’s the coolest thing about being a Force-wielder.
