2019 Burning Godzilla Gets His Action Figure Close-Up

At this point we’re well past the spoiler sell-by date for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, aren’t we? Those of us longtime fans of the giant radioactive lizard truly lost it when he went full flame-on in the movie’s climax. As a callback to prior movies, it was outstanding fan service. As a next-level power up in the movie at hand, it was sublime.

And because it mainly just requires a new paint job, we’re not surprised NECA has busted out a newly colored burning Godzilla action figure. The big guy measures 12 inches from head to tip of tail, and sports an all new bright orange fire deco.

Burning Godzilla is a Target exclusive and should be hitting local outlets right about now. In the movie, the burning effect came about from Godzilla overeating radioactive energy. He could have died from overheating. But instead the evil monsters did when he transferred that energy outward. We’ll have to wait a whole year to see the big reptile return with a vengeance in Godzilla vs Kong, but we’re not worried. Kong has trouble with a few vintage planes, while Godzilla routinely takes on the entire air force. Also, Godzilla could just kick over the entire Empire State Building.
