The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has a pretty packed production schedule right now. In addition to the Guardians sequel, filming is underway on The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Unlike the other two, Cosmic Rewind is a roller coaster/theme park attraction for Walt Disney World’s EPCOT. Gunn is directing new scenes for Cosmic Rewind, just as he did for Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! in Disney’s California Adventure. Now, Gunn has shared a first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind poster.

Additionally, Gunn assured fans that Drax’s shirt is “lined with fine orloni leather and it feels quite pleasant and unrestrictive,” to anyone wondering about Drax’s “sensitive nipples.”

However, the biggest news of the day is that another cast member from the first Guardians movie is back. Glenn Close is reprising her role as Irani Rael (a.k.a. Nova Prime) for Cosmic Rewind. She also appeared in video message that announced her return.

Gunn sidestepped speculation about Close’s appearance in Vol. 3 by saying “this is a ride.” So this doesn’t mean that Nova Prime survived Avengers: Infinity War‘s off-screen devastation of Xandar. Regardless, it will probably come up again if Marvel ever gets around to a Nova movie/series.
In the meantime, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open at EPCOT in summer 2022.
