Mattel Rolls Out the Latest Wave of Jurassic World Dominion Toys

Another Jurassic World movie means another T-Rex-sized load of Jurassic World Dominion toys, because no kids and few adults ever turn down more dinosaurs. As always, Mattel product will cater to all demographics. And as usual, it’s difficult to tell which products represent actual items from the movie and which take creative license for more play value. One significant change in the line, however, is a focus toward 3-3/4 inch for collectors as well as kids. With 6-inch figure prices rapidly escalating, the Amber Collection looks to become supplanted by the Hammond Collection, which will make similar figures in the smaller scale. First up: 1993 Ian Malcolm and a classic velociraptor, at $12.99 each.

One figure that Mattel’s description calls “critical to the action” is the Therizinosaurus. These are actual dinosaurs, not made up for the movie, but undoubtedly chosen for their freakishly large claws.

The $34.99 dino features “epic sound effects, a lunging chomp attack action and has HUGE claws for super side-slashing attacks.” A $64.99 Giganotosaurus also purports to inspired by the movie, and includes “realistic skin texture and color, articulated arms and legs, extra-wide jaws that can open and close, and it can swallow up to 20 mini dinosaurs.” While opinions differ as to what the real one looked like, it appears to refer to an Indominus Rex variant in this case.

Other products include a Thrash ‘N Devour T-Rex, similar to previous releases but with sounds augmenting the tail thrash and side chomp. And a Capture N’ Crush truck with breakaway parts and projectiles.
