Syndicate Collectibles to Launch Online Next Week

Back at Comic-Con last year, Syndicate Collectibles caught many fans by surprise. The previously unannounced new company in the action figure and statue space, creatively led by movie and toy industry veteran Jerry Macaluso, showed off eye-catching prototypes from surprising licenses like Dragon’s Lair, True Romance, and Bloodsport. At the time, we spoke with Macaluso about his plans to make items competitive with the likes of Super7 and NECA. What we didn’t know then, however, was when we’d start to say the company fully entered the marketplace.

Smashing Pumpkinheads

Now we know that SyndicateCollectibles.com will launch this upcoming Monday, February 19. What precisely will be on offer at launch remains unknown, but the plan is for “an expansive array of collectibles, including limited edition statues, action figures, prop replicas, and plush, among other sought-after items.”

Syndicate sent us a few images of what’s coming, including Pumpkinhead and Ronnie James Dio statues, as well as unpainted prototypes of Pumpkinhead and Klownzilla action figures.

Per the press release, licenses they have secured for various products include:

• Rocky Franchise
• Kiss
• Army of Darkness
• Poltergeist Franchise
• Dragon’s Lair Franchise
• Day of the Dead
• Bloodsport
• Killer Klowns From Outer Space
• True Romance
• Pumpkinhead
• Ronnie James Dio
• Ghoulies II
• Double Dragon

Macaluso previously headed up SOTA Toys and Pop Culture Shock Collectibles, and had retired from the toy business until Tonyk CEO Steve Loney agreed to take on the business responsibilities of a new company, allowing Macaluso to focus solely on the creative end.

Will there be preorders live on day one? Your guess is as good as ours, but the placeholder page right now indicates the site will be powered by Shopify, so probably. Action figures from Syndicate are expected in both 3-3/4 inch and 7-inch scales.

And they’re always looking for more licenses.
