Is everyone ready to learn some new Star Wars names? Don’t worry — it always seems complicated at first, but after a while, monikers like Din Djarin, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Shin Hati just roll off the tongue, don’t they?
The Acolyte takes place in the never-before-shown era of the High Republic, so nothing’s quite familiar besides Jedi robes and lightsabers. For the sake of your memory, though, the main character’s name is quite simple. Amandla Stenberg‘s assassin character is simply named Mae. And she’s getting two new figures — in 3.75-inch Vintage Collection and 6-inch Black Series. The other character getting a figure in both scales is Jedi Master Sol, who appears to be Lee Jung-jae’s character.
Star Wars Gets High
Though the High Republic era, at least as depicted on book covers thus far, tends to feature Jedi in white robes, all the figures announced feature the more familiar look of brown robe over white garb. That’s true of the rest of the figures announced and revealed today by Hasbro, which include three more Black Series figures.
Padawan Jecki Lon is the only apparent non-human of the bunch — is that Dafne Keen under the makeup? Jedi Knight Yord Fandar looks like Charlie Barnett. and Jedi Master Indara seems to be Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity as a Jedi Master makes sooooo much sense… so when will Keanu Reeves become one?).
All of these figures go up for preorder March 21st at 1 p.m. eastern on Amazon, Hasbro Pulse, and other major retailers. Delivery is expected this summer, right around The Acolyte’s June debut. A nice change, that, from when it took a year for Obi-wan Kenobi figures to arrive.
Get a good look at official images of all The Acolyte figures below. None includes much plot information beyond this basic synopsis: “At the end of the High Republic era, a former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes – but the forces they confront turn out to be far more sinister and personal than anticipated.”
