LEGO May the 4th Star Wars Sets Include New UCS TIE Interceptor

Star Wars Day, as designated based on its punny sound, is almost upon us, and as is the custom, toy companies roll out new releases based on the property. As of now, LEGO has the heftiest rollout prepared, though technically, most of them are coming out May 1st, except for the highlight of the event, the new Ultimate Collector Series TIE Interceptor, available only to LEGO Insiders members on the 1st, and then everyone else starting May 4th.

Feel. Don’t Think. Use Your Instincts.

The Interceptor is a remake of one of the first Star Wars vehicles to get that treatment, now with 1,931 pieces and retailing for $229.99. It’s over 16 inches long and includes exclusive TIE Pilot and Mouse Droid minifigs.

The regular line will also see a remake of one of the earliest Star Wars sets, the Sith Infiltrator, now with dropping probe droid action and spring-loaded missiles. It includes minifigs of Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn, Anakin Skywalker, and for some odd reason, Saw Gerrera. On a smaller scale, the BARC Speeder comes in an all-new Mandalorian series design featuring Kellerman Beq and a sidecar for Grogu to escape from the 501st. Fans who want to build their Trade Federation ranks can pick up a revamped mini droid transporter with six regular Battle Droids and two pilot variants.

Fans of the mini dioramas may prefer the Mos Espa podrace set, which depicts Anakin and Sebulba’s racers hovering through a desert canyon. In the larger brick-built figure sets, a transforming destroyer Droideka also includes a minifig-scale buildable version, and the popular Funko-like Brick Heads will add Commander Cody, Jar Jar Binks, Anakin Skywalker, Queen Amidala, Captain Panaka, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Darth Maul to the ranks.
