Star Wars’ Scariest Cyborgs, Vader and Grievous, Get Fancier Hot Toys

Before you ask why Hot Toys is doing yet another Darth Vader, because really, how perfect can you get with Vader once you’ve duplicated him exactly in miniature, look again.

This is battle-damaged Vader, though it’s not quite the version seen in the final episode of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, with different damage and more artistic flourish. It does, however, feature a Hayden Christensen likeness. See exactly where his severed limbs meet the mechanical, and with the deluxe version, get both a cracked helmet that allows Anakin’s eye to show through, and a specially posed bonus cape that has unfurled in the vague shape of a Vader helmet.

Metal Monsters

With General Grievous, an entirely new body needs to be made, including diecast metal parts. Separate his arms for quadruple saber action, let him do a spider-walk, and strike every pose he did onscreen. Plus Hot Toys actually managed to do the individually rolling eyeball feature on Grievous’ weird head.

Prices aren’t set yet, but expect them to be on the higher side given all the new parts involved.

Per official description, this Darth Vader “features a brand new head sculpt of the former Anakin Skywalker, a full helmet with weathering effects, highly detailed battle damaged suit and cybernetic parts of Vader’s body, LED light-up Lightsaber, and an adjustable themed display base with LED light up function!”

Grievous includes “diecast metal body structure allowing astonishing articulations, the general’s iconic four arms, LED light-up lightsabers powered by USB, a finely tailored wired cape, interchangeable battle damaged parts, an electrostaff, a blaster, and a display base!” An exclusive version in certain limited markets will also include a collector coin.

More machines now than men, twisted and evil, these computer-enhanced criminals have seldom looked more daunting. Nor had more elaborate toy renditions than these. Get a gander at more of the official images below.
