Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans Has Already Been Recorded

Last year, Warner Bros. confirmed that both animated incarnations of Teen Titans will collide in an upcoming film or TV special. The studio’s announcement came after a mid-credits scene in Teen Titans Go! to The Movies prominently featured the team members as they appeared in the classic 2003 Cartoon Network series. Although Teen Titans Go! retooled the series into a comedy, the original series’ stars used the mid-credits scene to proclaim that they’re “still here.” The crossover doesn’t have a release date yet, but according to Cyborg voice actor Khary Payton, the dialogue has already been recorded.

Payton, who also stars as King Ezekiel on The Walking Dead, revealed the news during an interview with ComicBook.com. “We recorded it a long time ago,” said Payton. “We had fun. I don’t remember a thing. I literally have to go back and revisit the story, because they’ve been waiting to show this thing for the longest time… Between that time, I’ve done probably like 13 episodes of Young Justice, 30 episodes of Teen Titans Go!, the whole season of last season of The Walking Dead, and a bunch of one-offs and not to mention Big Hero 6, the animated series. I don’t know, man. I would love to be able to tell you something, [but] I don’t know.”

When pressed for more info, Payton refused to budge. “I don’t know,” he repeated, but he immediately corrected himself. “That’s not true, I do know the answer to that question. I am not going to tell you. Because I don’t know what I am supposed to tell you, or what I’m not. So I’m going to keep both. I’m the worst scoop, because I have been thoroughly trained in the art of not telling anybody anything anymore.”
