We haven’t seen Jared Leto’s Joker on the big screen since 2016’s Suicide Squad. However, the Clown Prince of Crime will return later this year when Joaquin Phoenix stars in Joker. However, Leto, wouldn’t mind reprising his Joker somewhere down the road.
In an interview with Variety, Leto said, “I would definitely play the Joker again. It all depends on the script and the circumstances as it always does.”
But when asked about making a cameo appearance in Birds of Prey alongside Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Leto seemed to shoot down the possibility.
“I don’t think so,” replied Leto. “You’d have to ask them.” Later in the interview, he seemed to soften his position: “Well, we’ll see.”.

Leto also explained that he hasn’t seen any footage of Phoenix as the Joker, but he expressed his support of more comic book films. For the moment, Leto’s focus is on Morbius the Living Vampire, Sony’s next Marvel film. According to Leto, he’s always been fascinated by vampires.
“When I was a kid, I remember being at my grandmother’s house in Louisiana and the original OG would come on and just being pretty transfixed as some many of us were when we saw that,” said Leto. “And then the Anne Rice era was big for my brother and I. We passed those books around to each other.”
