After months of rumors about Black Widow, Marvel Studios confirmed its long-awaited flick during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. After the announcement, the protagonists of the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe had the chance to reveal more details about the project. Speaking with MTV News, leading actress Scarlett Johansson revealed that Black Widow is in kind of “its own genre.”
“It’s pretty gritty, but it’s also surprising” Johansson said. “Some of the movies that we talked about, we talked about The Fugitive, we talked about Logan, we talked about Terminator 2.”

Moreover, Johansson spoke with Good Morning America about her upcoming movie, confessing that we might see her more vulnerable than ever.
“You know it’s a little bit scary not having the kind of cushion of my fellow Avengers around,” Johansson said. “I mean, I hate to keep using the word vulnerable, but you kind of feel like you’ve put yourself out there in a different way because the character stands on her own.”
When the interviewer raised a question about a possible cameo from Hawkeye, Johansson preferred to beat around the bush.
“That’s when you see the tranq gun come out, “ Johansson joked. “My lips are sealed. You got to wait and see.”
If the rumors about it are true, Black Widow is set just after the event of Captain America: Civil War. Given the movie’s timeline, an appearance of Black Widow’s historical brother in arms is more than plausible. After all, they’ve always known about the “red” in each other’s ledgers.
Black Widow hits theaters on May 1, 2020. Do you think that the upcoming movie will look like Logan and Terminator 2? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
