Black Adam Producer Reveals When the Movie Will Begin Filming

Despite  skepticism from fans, it seems that Black Adam will finally make his way to the big screen. In a recent interview with ColliderBlack Adam producer Hiram Garcia revealed that they plan to start filming at the end of next year.

“The success of Shazam! was awesome for us and it was important for us to launch that, get that out into the world and begin crafting this universe. It’s a big thing for us to create this universe, this DC section of the universe, with characters we have planned to bring into it, headlined by Shazam and Black Adam. Jaume Collet-Serra, he just closed his deal, which we’re very excited about, and the plan is to begin filming that end of next year.”

Black Adam will see Dwayne Johnson portraying the Shazam’s archenemy after being attached to star since 2014. Collet-Serra was announced as director of the project in June 2019, and he will begin focusing on the Shazam!‘s sequel as soon as he wraps up Disney’s Jungle Cruise, an upcoming film which also stars Johnson.

Garcia revealed also that they’re taking the anti-hero approach for the first Black Adam standalone film .
