J.J. Abrams Has Already Chosen the Last Shot of The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars director, writer, and producer J.J. Abrams has a heavy burden on his shoulders. He is the Chosen One in charge of giving a proper conclusion to the new Star Wars trilogy, which has aroused mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. But in a recent interview with MTV News, The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams revealed that at least one popular element of the new films should hold up. It seems Star Wars star Adam Driver will be “mind-blowing” in the upcoming movie.

“I will say that with an actor like Adam Driver, you can never limit what that man can do. I will say, without talking about redemption or not, that he is mind-blowing in this,” Abrams said. “He’s brought a whole other level to this, so I can’t wait to see what happens with him.”

When the interviewer asked Abrams about the last shot of the film, the director said that while he’s still working on the film, the ending is in place.

“If I had not decided on that, I’d be in real trouble,” he said. “But, it was a very early-on thing, and it’s less the last shot of the movie than the last sequence, but it’s something that I… hope you like.”

Meanwhile, during the D23 Expo, Disney released a new “special look” for the upcoming Star Wars movie. The most interesting thing in that not-a-trailer, by far, was Rey presumably joining the Dark Side. But it seems that according to a writer from StarWars.com (via Esquire), that was a “vision” more than an actual “sight,” and you know how much influence the “visions” have in the Star Wars universe.
