Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley Says She’s Not a Big Fan of Porgs

We may know very little about the upcoming The Rise of Skywalker, but we now possess one certainty: Baby Yoda has conquered the hearts of all Star Wars fans and actors. Even though The Mandalorian story is unlikely to ever cross paths with the one from the last installment in the new trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker star Daisy Ridley would definitely have preferred working with Baby Yoda than with Porgs. Speaking on The Tonight Show, Ridley confessed that she doesn’t much like those cute creatures we met in The Last Jedi.

“Look, I’m not a big fan of the Porgs,” she said. “We worked for six months on The Last Jedi and every interview, ‘What about the Porgs?’ I was on the set for six months. They were there for a day.”

The actress was asked if her character will join the dark side, since the trailer released last month seemingly hints at this epic moment. And anyone who hates Porgs is surely turning evil. But she eventually gave a vague answer, not revealing too much about that.

“I honestly feel like I know what a viral sensation is, because I was one,” she said of the moment the footage was revealed. “It was really exciting because they drop it at a convention and the trailer didn’t come out for three days. So My mom was texting me and she was like, ‘What is this I’m seeing on Twitter? Do you go dark?’ and I was like ‘We’ll have to wait and see.'”
